How to Become a Knight

When fully trained, a squire could be made a knight by their lord, usually when between the ages of 18 and 21.
A knight was expected to be chivalrous at all times.

A knight faced having his status removed and good name sullied forever if he were guilty of serious misdemeanours like fleeing a battle
, committing heresy or treason. There was even a rule against a knight spending money too frivolously.

The most common
leisure activity
for knights was hunting

To reach this elevated position became more and more challenging as the Middle Ages wore on because the elite wished to maintain their exclusive status.

Pyramid of Kukulcan

The pyramid functioned as an enormous calendar and was designed so that, on the equinoxes,
the play of sunlight and shadow would create the illusion of a snake descending to earth.

Each of the four sides has 91 steps ascending it, 364 steps total
, with the temple topping the pyramid considered an addition step totalling 365, each step representing a day in the calendar.

Additionally, the pyramid’s nine stages, bisected by a staircase on each side, represent the eighteen months of the Maya Calendar year.

Pharaoh Ramesses II

The Abu Simbel site covers two temples next to each other.
The largest one is to glorify Ramses II, the famous four huge statues at its facade all show himself at various ages. The second temple at Abu Simbel is dedicated to Nefertari, one of the wives of Ramses II who was of Nubian descent. Nefertari’s name means the most beautiful.

The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC
, as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari, to commemorate his alleged victory at the Battle of Kadesh, and to intimidate his Nubian neighbors.

TIPS FOR SURVIVALISTS

There are many little clues in nature that can help you find the North.
The north star always points to the true north no matter the season.

Look for moss on a tree trunk. Mosses usually grow as far away from sunlight and are often found on the north side of the trees and rocks.
If the tree or rock is covered in moss, it will be thickest on the north side.

Direction finding

If the sun is out, put a stick in the ground and mark the end of the shadow of the stick on the ground. Wait for a few minutes; the shadow will move. Now mark the end of the new position of the shadow. The line joining those two points will run east-west.

DISTRESS DURING THE HIKE

Outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, fishing, and hunting all require basic wilderness survival skills.
Whether you face a survival situation or not, these skills make you a winner for life by increasing your mental robustness and resourcefulness.

Building an effective shelter can help protect you from hypothermia.
If you are with someone in the wild, cuddling up while sleeping can be helpful.

You
may feel
hopeless

One of the most important tip to making a shelter is making a bed. The bed will prevent the heat from your body seeping into the cold forest ground.

SURVIVAL SKILLS

A smoke signal was one of the oldest ways to communicate long before the age of cell phones.
An SOS signal is the universal call for help.

Finding clean, uncontaminated water is the holy grail of survival. Certain plants indicate water sources are nearby.
Dew collects on plants and grasses. Drinking water from a stagnant puddle or a lake is not advisable.

BODY LANGUAGE

Your cat is definitely trying to communicate with you using parts of its body, including its eyes, ears, and tail.
Most people have seen cats with their tails held up high. This is actually an indication of trust.

Wild animals usually find a small cave or hide behind rocks. Finding a safe space is their natural instinct.
When ears are pointed backwards, the cat is extremely agitated and irritated and will not hesitate to attack you.

Cats
will blatantly
ignore you

They are extremely stubborn and self-centered beings. Unlike dogs, Cats cannot be ordered to sit still and stop bothering you.
